Give people in the Congo a voice
People living in rainforest communities are vulnerable to deforestation because they rely on the forest for food, medicines and a livelihood. However many don’t feel that they are able to defend their homes and resources. Greenpeace supports them by bringing them together and giving them the tools and skills to stand up for their rights.

How this gift works ...
Giving local communities a voice in places like the Congo is really important, because not only are they most at risk from deforestation of their local environment, but they also give us expert knowledge of the forest which is vital to help defend it. Greenpeace helps by organising workshops with local people, informing them of their rights and enabling them to stand up to logging companies.
